Install Prodemy on Your Phone

You can add Prodemy to your phone's home screen and use it like any other app, without downloading anything from the App Store or Google Play. Once it's installed, Prodemy opens full screen with its own icon, keeps you signed in, and can send you push notifications even when it's closed.

Most of the time, Prodemy offers to install itself. After you sign in on your phone, a prompt slides up from the bottom of the screen and guides you through it. If you closed that prompt, or you'd rather do it yourself, follow the steps for your device below.

Install on iPhone or iPad#

On Apple devices you need to use Safari. Chrome and other browsers on iPhone and iPad can't add apps to the home screen.

1. Open Safari and go to prodemy.app.
2. Sign in to your account.
3. Tap the Share button. It's the square with an arrow pointing up, in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
4. Scroll down the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
5. Check that the name says Prodemy, then tap Add in the top corner.

The Prodemy icon now appears on your home screen. Tap it any time to open the app full screen.

Install on Android#

On Android, use Chrome.

1. Open Chrome and go to prodemy.app.
2. Sign in to your account.
3. When the Add Prodemy to home screen prompt appears, tap Add to home screen. If you don't see the prompt, tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner and choose Install app (it may be labelled Add to Home screen instead).
4. Tap Install to confirm.

The Prodemy icon is added to your home screen and to your app drawer.

Quick shortcuts on Android#

Once Prodemy is installed, you can press and hold its icon to jump straight to one part of the app — Dashboard, My schedule, or Notifications — without going through the home page first.

Turn on push notifications#

Push notifications let Prodemy tell you about payments, class updates, coach feedback, and reminders, even when the app isn't open.

1. Open the installed Prodemy app from your home screen. This step matters on iPhone — see the note below.
2. Go to Settings, then Notifications.
3. Switch on Push notifications.
4. When your phone asks for permission, tap Allow.

In the same Notifications section, you can use the category toggles to choose which kinds of alerts you get. You can also turn push notifications back off there at any time.

A note for iPhone users#

On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work when Prodemy has been added to your home screen and you open it from that icon. They won't work from a Safari tab. Your device also needs to be on iOS 16.4 or later. If the Push notifications switch doesn't seem to do anything, install the app first (using the steps above), open it from your home screen, and try again.

Using Prodemy offline#

If you lose your connection while using the installed app, Prodemy shows a simple offline screen rather than an error. Pages you've already visited, such as your schedule and recent notifications, are still available. Once you're back online, tap Try again to reload.

Frequently asked questions#

Is this a real app, or just a shortcut?#

It's a real installed app. Once installed, Prodemy runs in its own window without a browser address bar, keeps you signed in, and can send notifications and show a badge on its icon. The only difference is that it installs from the web rather than from an app store.

Will it take up much space?#

No. Because it installs from the web, Prodemy takes up far less storage than a typical app store download.

How do I update it?#

You don't need to — updates happen automatically. When a new version is ready, a short banner appears offering to reload. Tap it and you'll be on the latest version.

How do I remove it?#

Remove it the same way you'd remove any other app: press and hold the Prodemy icon and choose to delete or uninstall it. Your account and data aren't affected, so you can reinstall it any time or carry on using Prodemy in your browser.

The install prompt never appeared — what do I do?#

Follow the manual steps for your device above. On iPhone, make sure you're using Safari. On Android, use Chrome and look for Install app in the ⋮ menu. If you closed the prompt recently, it won't show up again for a few days, but the manual steps work straight away.
